In year 2008, SSCT successfully organized special student exchange program. It was special because students from India were not the toppers from different schools but they were twenty Tsunami victims and mostly girl students with their four teachers from Kalapet Girls senior secondary school. In this student exchange program we took twenty girl students to different schools at Saarland, Germany. It was also special because these students stayed with German families which were arranged by their school.
The delegation was escorted with the help of Mr. Virendra Aswal, project head and the Responsible Commissioner of the government of Pondicherry, Mr. Neethi. We would like to thank Dr. Brgit Spengler for success of this exchange program.
In year 2008, SSCT invited representative of University of Applied Forest sciences, Rottenburg to India to initiate exchange programme with Hemvati Nandan Bhauguna University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, India. This exchange programme was initiated to uplift and develop local students and expose them internationally and vice versa. Due to certain limitations, this student exchange program didn’t receive the approval of international funding agencies but SSCT received few independent applications from international students to pursue their training with SSCT. These students will be working on few important aspects of this region including soil, water, flora and fauna.
